When a warning light illuminates on your dashboard, it is advisable that you have an engine diagnostics check to help identify any problems before more serious damage occurs.

There are hundreds of potential error codes that can only be read by advanced vehicle diagnostic equipment. While a warning light may display on the dashboard alerting you to an issue, a diagnostic check is always required to fully understand the full extent and cause of the problem.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Most modern vehicles contain an onboard computer known as an Engine Control Unit (ECU) which will continually monitor the performance of the vehicle.

Sensors all around the vehicle then report any problems back to the ECU, such as low fluid levels, engine emissions or increased engine temperature. When an issue is identified the ECU will then generate an error code, which then generates a warning light on your dashboard.

Not only can these lights be a sign of far more serious problems with your vehicle, issues with your ECU could mean you are not receiving the warnings signals at all. If you are regularly having warning lights appear, have not had a diagnostics check run for more than 18 months or are concerned your ECU may be faulty, we highly recommend you book an engine diagnostics check for your safety & peace of mind.

WHAT DOES THE ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS EQUIPMENT CHECK FOR?

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE DIAGNOSTICS CHECK?

Live data will display multiple values from around the engine to ensure all components are working as expected when rectifying any issue. Our diagnostic equipment can also be used to reset service lights, to test and adjust braking systems where an electronic handbrake is present and adjust headlamp levels as well as many more important functions.
